ACS successfully implemented Medicaid Management Information System for the District of Columbia
Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS), A Xerox Company, reports that it has implemented a new Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) for the District of Columbia, Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF). The system features a Web portal and interactive voice response system (IVR) offering real-time submission and processing of Medicaid claims, claim status, recipient eligibility verification and provider payment information.
In addition to improving efficiency, the system can also detect fraud by analyzing provider payments.
According to the company, the MMIS has provisions for remote case management using a laptop at the beneficiary's home. ACS focuses on national healthcare administration and developed the MMIS for the District of Columbia under a seven-year $111 million contract.
